What Makes a Practice Family-Friendly?
A truly family-friendly dental practice isn’t just one that accepts patients of all ages. It’s about the entire experience. Can you book appointments for multiple family members on the same day? Is the team experienced in treating anxious patients, including children who might be nervous? Do they take time to explain treatments in a way that doesn’t feel rushed?
Our team of seven dentists includes practitioners with different areas of focus, from children’s dentistry to complex restorative work. This means your whole family can receive care under one roof, whether your teenager needs orthodontic assessment or your partner requires emergency treatment.
Here’s the Thing About Dental Anxiety
If anyone in your family feels nervous about dental visits, you’re not alone. Dental anxiety is incredibly common, and it’s something we see every day. We offer in-house IV sedation and general anaesthesia options for those who need extra support. Dr Alex has a particular interest in helping anxious patients feel comfortable, and our team completes over 300 hours of professional training annually to ensure we’re providing the most current, gentle care available.
The Practical Stuff
When choosing a family dentist, practical considerations matter. We’re open Monday to Thursday until 6pm and Fridays until 5pm, with Saturday appointments available by arrangement. Same-day emergency appointments are available when unexpected issues arise.
We accept all major health funds with HICAPS for on-the-spot claiming, and offer flexible payment options including Afterpay and interest-free payment plans. Premium quality care shouldn’t mean premium prices, and we work hard to make dentistry accessible for Gisborne families.
Why Location Matters
For families in Gisborne, New Gisborne, Macedon, Riddells Creek, Woodend, and Romsey, having a dental home nearby makes regular appointments easier to maintain. Our practice on Station Road in New Gisborne is central to the Macedon Ranges, meaning less travel time for busy families.
Our modern facilities include digital scanning,
CEREC same-day crowns, and 3D imaging. We’ve invested in this technology because it often means fewer appointments and more comfortable experiences for patients.
Making Your Decision
Every family deserves dental care that feels right for them. Consider visiting a practice for an initial consultation before committing. A good practice will welcome the opportunity to meet you, understand your family’s needs, and show you around.
