Clear aligners have changed what it’s possible for adults to do about crooked or crowded teeth without traditional braces. If you’ve been quietly hoping there’s an option that doesn’t involve metal brackets and wires,
Invisalign is likely what you’ve been looking for.
At New Gisborne Dental House, we offer
Invisalign for patients across the Macedon Ranges. Dr Lyle Worrell is an
Invisalign provider with experience in orthodontic treatment, and Dr Rowena Tran also has a special interest in clear aligner therapy. Between them, they bring a solid depth of knowledge to
Invisalign treatment planning and delivery.
The Macedon Ranges community has trusted us with their dental care for nearly 40 years, and we’ve helped more than 39,000 families maintain their oral health. That background matters when you’re considering a treatment that runs for months, not days.
How Invisalign Actually Works
Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, removable clear aligners to gradually move your teeth into a new position. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately one to two weeks before you move to the next set in the series. Over time, your teeth shift toward the planned position.
Because the aligners are removable, you take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and clean your teeth. This keeps your oral hygiene routine straightforward compared to fixed braces. The aligners themselves are made from smooth, clear plastic and sit snugly over your teeth.
The number of aligners in your treatment, and the total duration, depends entirely on your individual situation. Some patients complete treatment in several months; others with more complex tooth movements may take longer. Your dentist will give you a realistic estimate after a proper assessment.
Is Invisalign Right for You?
Invisalign works well for a range of alignment concerns, including crowded teeth, gaps, and certain bite issues. It’s not the right solution for every orthodontic situation, and for more complex cases, fixed braces or other approaches may be more appropriate.
The best candidates for Invisalign are people who will wear the aligners consistently, aiming for 20 to 22 hours per day. The treatment only moves teeth when the aligners are in. If you’re someone who’s likely to forget to put them back in after meals, it’s worth having an honest conversation with your dentist about that at your consultation.
Invisalign is commonly chosen by working adults and parents who want a less visible option. It’s also available for teenagers in certain cases.
What to Expect at New Gisborne Dental House
Your
Invisalign journey at our Gisborne practice begins with a complimentary consultation. Your dentist will examine your teeth, take digital scans if appropriate, and talk you through whether Invisalign may suit your situation.
If treatment is right for you, your custom aligners are made to a precise treatment plan. We’ll see you for periodic check-ins throughout your treatment to make sure everything is tracking as expected. At the end of treatment, a retainer is typically recommended to help maintain your results.
We offer flexible payment options to make treatment more manageable, and we work with all major health funds. If you’re an anxious dental patient, our team is experienced in providing care in a calm, unhurried environment, and in-house IV sedation is available for patients who need extra support.
If you’re travelling from Woodend, Riddells Creek, Romsey, or Macedon, we’re your closest
Invisalign provider in the region.
What Happens After Treatment?
Once your aligner series is complete, most patients are fitted with a retainer. Retainers are worn to help maintain your teeth in their new position, and your dentist will advise on how long and how often to wear yours. Skipping retainer wear is one of the more common reasons teeth gradually shift back over time, so it’s worth taking this part seriously.
Invisalign also offers post-treatment whitening options for some patients, which can be a natural next step once your teeth are in position. Your dentist will talk through what makes sense for you at the appropriate stage of treatment.
